L. King Scott, DDS is a past President of the Academy for Sports Dentistry (1996-1997) and past International Secretary. Dr. Scott graduated from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana, and then Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1978. That same year he started a private practice in West

Monroe where his practice thrives today. He has a full-time practice in General Dentistry with special emphasis in Reconstruction Dentistry, Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry and Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction disorders. Dr. Scott has traveled extensively since 1978 in order to take hundreds of hours of post-graduate education from the finest clinicians in Dentistry. Dr. Scott has based his practice upon a commitment to excellence in both quality care and staff. Dr. Scott actively supports dental education as a long-time student of Dr. Michael Schuster’s Center for Professional Development, Scottsdale, AZ (1990-1991) and(1995-1996-1997); along with Dr. Pete Dawson’s Center for Advanced Dental Studies in St. Petersburg, FL (1990-1992) (1994) (1998)(2004); and Dr. Earl Pounds’ Branching Complete Denture Technique, as mentored by Dr. Jack Turbyfill (1992), (1995),(1998). His advanced esthetic training is with Dr. Bill Dickerson and Dr. Larry Rosenthal through the Las Vegas Institute and the Baylor College of Dentistry (1995-1996). His advanced temporomandibular joint dysfunction training is with Dr. Mark Piper of the Center for Advanced Dental Studies in St. Petersburg, FL (1999-2000).

Dr. Scott also has a national reputation as he possesses several dental patents in reference to the Scott All-Sports Performance Mouthguard of which he is the inventor, designer, and developer. He has spoken not only in the United States but also internationally in reference to his design and development of the Scott All-Sports Performance Mouthguard. He also works with professional, Olympic, collegiate and local athletes. He is also a Fellow in every occasion with the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (1988), a Fellow in the Academy for Sports Dentistry (2000), and a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (2000). Dr. Scott has attained the level of Master in the Academy of General Dentistry (2004). He was the team dentist for the University of Louisiana at Monroe Athletic Department since 1986 and he is the team dentist for the Monroe Moccasins for the 1999-2000 and 2000-2001 hockey seasons. Dr. Roethele is a 1989 graduate of LSU School of Dentistry and a 1983 graduate of USL, where he was the captain of the football team. He is the current President of the New Orleans Dental Association and the PR Chairman for the Louisiana Dental Association. Dr. Jim is only the second dentist in

history to receive the Young Dentist Award from the Louisiana Dental Association and has been awarded membership to the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Academy. With over 500 hours of continuing education, Dr. Roethele is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. As a member of the Academy for Sports Dentistry since 1989, Dr. Roethele is the team dentist for many local athletic teams and the Official Dentist of the Sugar Bowl. He has been interviewed on television, radio and the newspaper because of his involvement in organized dentistry and the community. As an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dr. Roethele has had the pleasure of providing smile enhancement for celebrities like ESPN's Milo Levell and Miss USA 1996, Ali Landry. He was a first place recipient of the 1996 and 2000 International Smile Galleries, sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Roethele practices metal free dentistry in his new facility located in Kenner, Louisiana.

The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry has approximately four thousand members worldwide, while only 170 have achieved accreditation status. An Accredited Member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry has completed extensive advanced training and education in cosmetic dentistry. In addition, this dentist has successfully passed a rigorous Accreditation Board Examination.
