his BDS degree from the Alexandria University School of Dentistry in 1981 and subsequently
completed a one year dental residency program there. He served as a dental house officer
in the Department of Dentistry, DOH & MS in Dubai from 1982 until 1984. Dr. |
| Al-Khatib did research at the University of Minnesota School
of Dentistry for one year (1984-5) and then earned a Certificate in Endodontics (1985-87)
from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He went on to
complete a Masters in Oral Biology at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental
Medicine (1987-89). He has worked as a registrar in the Department of Dentistry, DOH &
MS, Dubai ever since where he is also a consultant endodontist. He has published
"Traumatic Injuries to the Teeth: An overview" - Part I & II for the Dental
News; Vol. IV; No.III; 1997 and Vol. V; No. I; 1998. Dr. Al-Khatib has served as
Secretary General of the 4th UAE Dental Conference, Feb 1992, EMA - Dental Society,
Conference President of the 5th UAE Dental Conference, Jan 1995, EMA - Dental Society,
Cultural Committee Chairperson of the Board Committee of Emirates Medical Association from
Feb 1996 - 1999, Member of the Emirates Medical Association - Dental Society since 1984,
Member of the American Association of Endodontists since 1989 and Member of International
Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT). Dr. Al-Khatib participated in the First World
Congress on Sports Dentistry and Dental Traumatology. |
